At least one policeman martyred in Islamabad's I-10 bomb attack

A suspected suicide car bomb exploded in Islamabad's Sector 1-10 on Friday and at least one police official was martyred in the attack.  Police sources said the explosion occurred after they stopped a taxi and began searching it. According to preliminary information, at least four other officers were injured in the explosion and have been taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment. The individual driving the vehicle was also killed in the blast. Rescue and security services have reached the blast site. The area has been cordoned off while an investigation into the incident has started with the help of CCTV cameras installed in the surrounding areas. Security across the Rawalpindi district has been put on high alert and strict monitoring of all entry and exit points of the twin cities has been implemented. Authorities have issued instructions to provide strict security for Friday prayers.
